Dear Editor,
The endWord is always both challenging and encouraging – September’s was no exception! Sin is shown for what it is and Lizzy Smallwood made it clear that by God’s grace, although we might have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ and will not suffer the eternal consequences of our sin, yet (as the apostle Paul was so aware in Romans 7:21-25) there is still some of that old nature lurking in us.
We are reminded, as James says, that our hearts are divided (double-minded) in that we love God, but the Self seems so often to take over our thinking. Sadly I know this to be true personally as no doubt many of us do by experience. In our recent homegroup we were reminded of Psalm 139, how the Lord knows us through and through.
