Dear Editor,
As the author of ‘Presbyterian High Calling’ (I didn’t write the headline) in April’s en, I thought I should respond to John Steley’s letter in May’s edition.
It is right that we should not look at people’s external features for leadership as a straightforward Saul-David comparison shows us. However, the reason for the unusually tall average height of the conference, is that the majority of the delegates had come from the Netherlands. We only met overnight, so our further away sister churches sent letters rather than delegates. I once went to a Synod there and was dwarfed. EPCEW seems pretty normal for height, but with a couple of outliers (present in the article photo sending the average height up even more).
