Dear Editor,
Whilst I have the highest regard for the preaching and written ministry of Vaughan Roberts, I fear that his acceptance of Bishop Croft as a brother in Christ as he seems to do in his response to Bishop Croft represents a signal failure to call out a false teacher as such.
The Church of England Evangelical Council seems to endorse this approach. Does not 2 John 1:9-11 show us the more apposite response? If we fail to call it out I think we are those who ‘take part in his wicked works’. I think that a clear disassociation is in fact required for ‘what accord has Christ with Belial?’ (2 Cor. 6:15).
