Dear Editor,
I was interested to read the various articles in the June issue of en on Evangelical Futures. I think the same collapse could happen here in Britain as Russell Moore spells out for the States. Graham Nichols’ article on ‘Gospel unity in the face of evangelical tribalism’ suggests unity on the basis of ‘gospel’. But what does he mean by gospel? It can mean different things to different people. Surely it is vital that commitment to and agreement with the Scriptures that they are the inerrant word of God must underlie the gospel and everything else, and is taught clearly everywhere a church thinks itself evangelical.
Yours sincerely,
