It’s not just about sex, is it?

Dear Editor,

‘Therefore, unless the church allows them an appropriate degree of differentiation …’ (letter from Dr Martin Davie, March 2022 en) raises the question of what doctrines would need to be believed, taught and preached (apart from about sex and marriage) by members of any conservative part arising from that differentiation. For example, the doctrine that we all face the wrath and condemnation of God from birth onwards because of the Fall and Original Sin; the atonement doctrine of penal substitution and the satisfaction of God’s wrath by the death of Christ; eternal retribution on the unsaved; the importance of preaching the terrible warnings alongside the wonderful good news? And what about the ordination of women?

Yours sincerely,
