I am sorry the former Evangelicals Now editor (en March 2021) has been so affected by ‘gloom and doom of (BBC’s) Radio 4’s Today programme and the BBC News generally’, and its ‘scolding’ of listeners, that he has abandoned Radio 4 for Radio 3!
Of course there is room for criticism – and the BBC publishes Religion and Ethics reviews from time to time. In our generally humanist and spiritually-indifferent society a Christian worldview will not predominate. Our task, as Christians, is to be watchful (and to listen!) and be salt. The BBC is a valuable national institution and is under some general threat. We should support it – not least by thoughtful, constructive criticism.
