Dear Editor,
I’d like to thank Simon Marsh for his timely ‘Disposable planet?’ article which reminded us of the importance of our stewardship of the earth today, even though we know that it will one day be renewed.
I find it helpful to remember that this is a principle that all believers already apply. We know that one day, when Christ returns, we will receive a resurrection body which is imperishable. However, this promise does not stop us all taking great care of our present, perishable bodies. Therefore, if we understand the importance of good stewardship for our own bodies today, then maybe we should think carefully about how we can apply this principle to other parts of God’s glorious creation.
