More miracles?

Dear Sir

In May next year we shall be remembering the 80th anniversary of the escape of our troops from the beaches at Dunkirk. Very often the word miracle is used to describe what happened. Yet what is conveniently forgotten is that the king, George VI, called for a national day of prayer beforehand. A while ago en reminded us of this fact when it showed a picture of people queueing up outside Westminster Abbey waiting for the opportunity to pray. These things were well documented at the time and it would be good if someone could highlight all the news articles to encourage Christians by noting that national miracles do still happen.

During the last 60 years we have steadily undermined many of the Bible-based laws upon which our national history is based. We have always believed that Britain is Great and certainly God has blessed us, so that from a human point of view we have been used to spread the gospel around the globe. Surely it is time for our Christian leaders, pastors and bishops to publicly call our nation to prayer. Of course, many churches and Christian people are praying for our nation but we need a more public call.
