Dear Sir,
Unable to sleep, one troubled night, I turned, naturally, to prayer and was swiftly reminded of a relaxation technique that I had been taught. I recommend it. Simply focus on the breath and allow this to direct you to each part of the body in turn. Pains ease. Troubles detach. Life begins to feel manageable again. It is easier to focus more clearly on what, exactly, you want to say to God. It is easier to feel his presence with you in the midst of trouble.
Then I slept. Next day, I looked at en. ‘Mindfulness: is it useful’ by Jo Gardner, I read. It’s in the October issue, p.16.
