Dear Editor,
In regard to Joy Horn’s article in January en, may we gently point out that Billy Bray did not build Baldu church.
His remaining chapel is Three Eyes which is found at Kerley Downs, near Baldu. Billy is buried at what was Baldu Anglican Church, which was built during his lifetime and is famous because its minister William Haslam was converted while preaching his own sermon there. Sadly, the church has been turned into residential accommodation, but there is still access to visit the graveyard and to see Billy’s grave. Three Eyes Chapel is a Methodist heritage site and there are services there several times a year. It is open every day during the summer.
