Thank you for your concern for historical perspective and a coverage of global mission issues. We refer to the article on Latin America in the April issue (p.10).
While celebrating the role of OM in awakening mission interest through the Doulos visits and acknowledging the catalytic effect as noted by Federico Bertuzzi, we also wanted to broaden the base, as others were involved in developing missiology and the mission-sending movement in Latin America at the same time. Notably the Comunidad Internacional de Estudiantes Evangélicos (the Latin American part of International Fellowship of Evangelical Students) was developing early student mission conferences which also contributed to the foundational 1987 COMIBAM conference, including through the Asburys of Latin Link in Brazil.
