Dear Sir,
While it is true that Christians should show their faith at work, I believe the advice given in the article ‘Christianity and Westminster’ in the September issue of en is both dangerous and wrong. Choosing a career and deciding where the Lord wants us to work is hard enough and it’s very tempting to go for something where we believe we can make a difference to the world.
Under the heading ‘Christians must get involved’ none of the examples chose their position, nor did they plan a career ‘to make a difference’. Joseph was thrown into a pit, sold to slave traders and ended up in Pharaoh’s palace where God used him to great effect. He didn’t choose it as a career; similarly with Daniel.
