Dear Editor,
I agree with John Humphrey (October en), that Anglicans need to embrace again the Book of Common Prayer and their dearly-won heritage in the wonderful words and prayers of Cranmer as he leads us, by Scripture and exhortation, to salvation.
The ‘lead in’ to morning and evening prayer, in my opinion, sets the soul in the right frame of mind to receive God in all his majesty and awe. I particularly recommend The Litany or General Supplication; it would be a stern character indeed not to be on their knees after even the first few sentences.
