The number of Mongolians who identify as Christians has dropped by over 37% in 10 years, as revealed by a national census.

The most recent national study, which questioned people over 15 in Mongolia in 2020, found that just 2.2% identified as Christians, down from 3.5% in 2010.

There are thought to be several reasons for the decline in Mongolian Christianity, including a lack of clarity around what evangelicalism’s message is, and no increase in material wealth as a result of being a Christian.
