A long-awaited report into past leadership and governance at Christchurch Durham (CDD) has been delayed because of the ‘large number’ of contributors.

The CCD elders released a statement on 11 October saying that the barrister who has undertaken the independent external review, Janys Scott KC, said her report will not now be released before November. It had been expected by the end of October.

The review was commissioned in August and related to the period of Tony Jones’s term as senior pastor from 2003 until he resigned in late 2021. He is now a pastor in Pennsylvania. en has asked how many people contributed. David Buckley, one of the elders, responded: ‘We have deliberately let Janys Scott KC (with the help of a virtual assistant) manage the external review herself (including deciding who to contact) and thus are unable to answer your questions. We trust and pray that her review will be thorough, fair and accurate.’
