Catalyst considers ministry

Catalyst delegates (LtoR) Jason Anderson, Ade Bamgbade & Roger Lindie

Catalyst is the annual conference of The International Presbyterian Church (IPC) – only day one has happened at en deadline time writes Darren Moore.

Each year the take up seems broader, a strong contingent from The Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPCEW), FIEC, EFCC and Anglicans. Even some visiting from overseas.

The theme this year is ‘The Christian Minister: his Shepherd and Flock, his Identity and World’. David Gibson looks first at the minister as a sheep cared for by God, from Psalm 23 (in three talks); Stafford Carson on the flock; Sinclair Ferguson on identity (how the minister should be); and others on the world we engage with. Some seminaries have stalls, I’m about to get a pizza and pint with Reformed Theological Seminary, tomorrow night Westminster Philadelphia are putting on a BBQ with Sinclair Ferguson speaking on the wounds ministers inflict on the congregation… and the congregation on the minister.
