The first-ever Kent Women’s Convention will be held in September, in the wake of the closure of the London Women’s Convention.
The one-day conference, called ‘Flourish’, organised by the Kent Gospel Partnership (KGP), will bring together women from across Kent for gospel-centred teaching and encouragement. Author Jane McNabb, of The Slade Evangelical Church, will be speaking from John, along with singing led by Liv Chapman of Emu Music, and workshops on growing and thriving in Christ. Flourish will be held at Rochester Baptist Church on Saturday 28 September.
Several smaller women’s conferences have been launched after the London Women’s Convention stopped running last year. Richard Hagan, chair of KGP and pastor of Emmanuel Church Canterbury, explains the reason behind the launch: ‘For many years now, women from our churches have streamed up to London to enjoy the London Women’s Convention, a day filled with superb teaching, awesome worship and rich fellowship. Since that finished, the planning team of the KGP decided to see if we could replicate that on a more local level.’
