A London primary school has been accused of mistreating two children who were suspended in June for allegedly making homophobic comments.

Ten-year-olds Kaysey Francis-Austin and Farrell Spence were excluded for five days from Heavers Farm Primary School in South London. The comments were allegedly overheard during an RE lesson in which the pupils were discussing their participation in a LGBT Pride march the school had organised. Both pupils deny the claims.

Kaysey and Farrell told their parents they were saying they did not want to take part, when their conversation was overheard by an unnamed woman. The head teacher said the woman claimed both children said ‘gay people should die’, and alleged that Kaysey said gay people ‘have let the devil into them and they need to be killed’.
