Dr Michael Reeves writes: ‘In January 2016, I took over the reins of what was WEST as it transformed into Union. Since then, we have sought 1) to develop the geographical accessibility of how leaders are raised, and 2) to strengthen the training and education we provide.

‘For accessibility, we have developed regional church-based hubs. And in September this year, we will be doubling the number of our hubs with the addition of Union learning communities from Tunbridge Wells to Newcastle.

‘Then, two staff appointments will strengthen our provision. First, Dr Ian Shaw joins us as our new Provost after nine years as director of the Langham Partnership UK Scholars Ministry. Ian is exactly the gracious pastor-theologian we now need in this key role, combining as he does concerns for theological rigour, gospel faithfulness and spiritual maturity.
