On 8 January, Cowley Church Community (CCC) voted to adopt its first constitution and become a fully independent church. Planted by Magdalen Road Church, the new congregation has a vision to reach Cowley, on the east side of the city.
In Spring 2016, 30 adults and children were commissioned by Magdalen Road Church and began meeting every Sunday afternoon at a community centre in central Cowley.
In January 2017, CCC voted to adopt its new constitution. With two co-pastors, Tim Guest and Daniel Blanche, they are hoping that in the coming year the church will focus on mission more intentionally and intensively. Tim said, ‘We’re really excited about the vision God has given us to reach Cowley for Christ. We began meeting in local homes a couple of years ago, so we’re thrilled to now be taking this next step as an independent church.’
