It was announced in mid-November that after a decade of faithful service, Jonathan Stephen will be retiring as provost of Union in May.
‘When I came here in 2006,’ he said, ‘I committed myself, God willing, for a ten year period, by which time I would have reached my 65th birthday. Having now passed that landmark, Sheila and I have prayerfully decided that just one extra year of ‘overtime’ is right for both us and for Union.’
Jonathan’s impact on the ministry at Bryntirion has been huge, and deep thanks will be expressed to him in the coming months. A new provost will be sought, and Union will continue under the leadership of the president, Michael Reeves.
