The chapel was packed on 5 November as Downe Baptist Church, Kent, gathered with many friends for the recognition service of Glenn Hanna as minister in training.
Glen, currently undertaking theological training with the Evangelical Movement of Wales, is to be appointed pastor at Downe upon its completion.
The meeting was chaired by William Gardner who has acted as moderator at Downe for the past four years. Gordon Hoppé, elder and church secretary, spoke of the way the church had been led to invite Glen, who together with his wife Kathryn have been in membership for six years, to the ministry. Glen who had been a Civil Servant, told how God had led him from being a ‘servant of the crown’ to being a ‘servant of the King’.
