Some 140 members of the Crieff Fellowship met for their January conference from 12th-14th January 2016 in the Ferntower Suite of Crieff Hydro.
The main speaker this year was Simon Manchester, who has been Rector at St Thomas Anglican Church in North Sydney for the past 26 years. In four marvellous sessions, demonstrating his exceptional pastoral and expository gifts, he covered the whole book of Deuteronomy, illuminating the text at point after point and applying it to telling effect with real warmth and grace.
Practicalities of preaching
Jeremy McQuoid’s two sessions on ‘Preaching to the head and heart’ were the perfect complement to Simon Manchester’s exposition, serving to explain just why and how such preaching is exercised. His two addresses, rooted as they were in the ministry he’s exercised as Teaching Pastor at Deeside Christian Fellowship since 2004, worked through many of the practicalities of preaching in such a way that head and heart are to be engaged.
