Prayer for their 66 children

Laurie and Ethel Brokenshire, who have fostered 66 children and young people in the past 21 years (and still pray for all of them), were sharing their experiences as foster parents at an event to encourage fostering in Portsmouth in mid-November.

The couple, from Holy Rood Church, Stubbington, have fostered children from babies to 18-year-olds who weren’t able to remain with their birth families. Their motivation to help has been their Christian faith.

They were sharing their experiences as part of a campaign to inspire churchgoers from south-east Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to adopt or foster children and young people.
