A four-year interregnum ended when André Beck was appointed pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church, Felixstowe, on September 27.

Having served as assistant pastor of Grove Hill Evangelical Church, South Woodford, London, since 2010, André moved to Felixstowe in August with his wife, Liz and children Jonny, Amy and Lara. The pastoral secretary, Keith Doust, recalled the long search for a pastor, how God had through this time clearly demonstrated his faithfulness in sustaining the church through a testing time and, at just the right time, revealed André as the man of his choice.

André then outlined his upbringing and conversion in South Africa, and his theological and pastoral training there and in London at St Helen’s Bishopsgate and Oak Hill.
