A congregation in the Highlands has given every household in their village a free copy of an evangelistic book explaining the Christian faith.

Copies of Magnificent Obsession, written by David Robertson, have been handed out as a Christmas and New Year present to the 300-strong Wester Ross district of Coigach.

The Rev. Alasdair Macleod, minister of Coigach Free Church – which is linked to its sister Lochbroom congregation in Ullapool – explained: ‘We have made it a practice in Coigach over the past year or two to send each home a Christmas gift, usually some sort of apologetic book. While the church is a remote and obscure entity for many today, Jesus Christ still intrigues.
