From Bangladesh to Flint

Montaz with his wife Naomi and Tiffany

On January 11, over 200 people filled Flint Evangelical Church for the induction of the Rev. Montaz Ali as the church’s new pastor.

The service was led by Chris Thomas, church elder, a commendation was brought by the Rev. Juge Ram Chopra, pastor of Emmanuel Church, Handsworth, and Mike Roper, an elder of Trinity Baptist Church, Tenterden, where Montaz previously pas-tored, led in prayer.

Montaz gave a moving testimony of his call to the ministry, tracing God’s hand on his life from an early age. Having been born in Bangladesh into a Muslim background, he came to Britain with his family as a young boy and grew up in the West Midlands. He was converted as a teenager and sensed very soon that God was calling him to be a preacher.
