Wycliffe’s heart

Eddie Arthur

On September 7 around 450 people gathered to celebrate 40 years of God’s faithfulness while Wycliffe Bible Translators have been based at the Wycliffe Centre in Buckinghamshire.

Wycliffe Bible Translators have now sold the Wycliffe Centre at Horsleys Green, and will be moving to new offices in Saunderton in early November.

In an address to the gathering, Eddie Arthur, director, emphasised that the Buckinghamshire location is not the main focus of the organisation. ‘Horsleys Green is beautiful, but it is emphatically not the heart of Wycliffe. The heart, purpose and call of this organisation lies among the people who have no access to Scripture, not in the leafy lanes of Buckinghamshire. There are still just under 2,000 language groups without a single word of Scripture and many, many others who only have a part of God’s word available to them.
