Biblica says that it produces relevant, reliable Scripture translations and innovative Bible resources that power the ministry of the world’s widest-reaching mission organizations.

The mission of Biblica is clear: ‘to end gospel poverty wherever it is found’. In addition to that, their heart is to provide Bible translations to the ends of the earth no matter the language. This is of course a massive challenge.

In my own experience, I learnt in my time in South Africa that the Bible in the local language (Sesotho) was translated into the traditional form. This, however, was not the same as the colloquial written or spoken language of the day. I guess that would be similar to us reading a Shakespearean Bible! So, many people, especially those of the younger generations, find it difficult to properly read the Bible in their native tongue. So much so that many will choose to read in English, which is not their first or even second language! I think we sometimes take for granted the ease of access we have to a Bible that we understand (or at least we can read)!

The list of what Biblica get involved in seems endless. As well as translation, they provide oral Bibles, Study Bibles, and preach the gospel to children in crisis.

The website allows you to find all you need about what Biblica do and how to get involved. If we are to see ‘every tribe and tongue’ worshipping at the throne of God, we must partner and support those who work to get the Bible into the language and hands of every tribe!
