A prayer app with depth

ECHO PRAYER MANAGER

App Store, Google Play

Echo Prayer is a free app that helps you keep track of your prayers, reminds you to pray throughout the day, and lets you share prayer requests with others.

At first glance, this may appear to be just a glorified version of Notes or Reminders on any regular iPhone. However, there is more than meets the eye.

Echo is so much more than a prayer list app. It allow you not just to list, but also categorise, and add tags onto individual prayer items.

One thing that I sometimes forget is to thank God for when prayers are answered. We are so busy in day-to-day life that we can often not even notice when prayers are answered. With Echo, you can see what you are actively praying for and even mark them as answered, so you can thank God and reflect on what prayers He has answered. A tool like this would be good in times where you are looking back on what God has done in your life over a period of time and with this app you would be able to see all the answered prayers.

With Echo you can also set reminders for specific prayer items. Not just a notification that says ‘PRAY’, but for specific things. How many times do we say to someone, ‘I’ll pray for you/that’ and we never end up doing so!

Other things the app offers are a prayer timer and the option to share what you are praying for with others. I often shoot my best friend a WhatsApp saying, ‘Please pray!’. Maybe sharing more of your prayer requests with your brothers and sisters in Christ would encourage them to pray more too.

There are also resources for churches such as small-group plans and ‘prayer feeds’ –when we talk about this app as a ‘prayer list app’, I think we are only really scratching the surface.
