As a regular teacher of God’s word, I often need to compare what two different translations of a Biblical text say or look at the original etymology of a Greek word. This is where Bible Hub comes in.
It’s a free, easy-to-use parallel Bible program. I am currently based in South Africa, where my sermons are translated into the local language Sesotho. Normally, when preaching in the UK, I would use the ESV. However, as the ESV is a more direct translation than any others, the reading of passages can sometimes be a little stiff. This means that I will often now use the NIV when reading the passages in a congregational setting. What Bible Hub allows me to do, is have them side-by-side to ensure I am not missing anything by using a less accurate translation.
Furthermore, for those who have an interest in looking at the origin of the Hebrew and Greek words used in Scripture, Bible Hub allows you not just to have parallel Bible translations, but to also include a Hebrew or Greek lexicon to look more closely into the meaning of a Hebrew or Greek word. You can click on each word and look at the definition, usage, word studies, and where else in Scripture the word is used.
