What does it meant to be evangelical? Is it a helpful term or should it be jettisoned?
These are the questions Michael Reeves seeks to answer in Gospel People. He does present a clear and compelling argument that we can define evangelical. In Gospel People Reeves helpfully delineates what is primary and what is secondary, or even tertiary. Reeves distils what is primary to revelation from the Father, redemption by the Son and regeneration through the Spirit. Having studied at Union where Reeves is President, it is unsurprising that I agreed with his definition and gladly count myself as an evangelical.
