The author is senior pastor of Southeast Christian Church, Louisville, Kentucky, USA where he preaches to 25,000 people every weekend.
The book consists of ten chapters on texts from Hebrews 10-12. These feel like transcripts of sermons. Reading them, I found it easy to see why so many people would gather at least in part to hear Kyle Idleman preach each weekend as he is a master of clear helpful communication. He himself comes across engagingly with a number of witty and self-deprecating footnotes.
