I trust that you are eclectic in your spirituality. This book deals with a subject which is rather peripheral for mainstream evangelicals. It is an introduction to contemplative prayer. I have known the author as a long-standing friend whose family took me in when I had a homelessness crisis some years ago. She is an elder in the local evangelical Church of Scotland.

The book is rooted in the tragic experience of a car accident a few years ago which resulted in her 17-year-old son Sam being tetraplegic. He is now doing postgraduate studies at Oxford University. But he requires 24-hour care for the rest of his life.
