LAMENTATIONS AND EZEKIEL FOR EVERYONE
By
John Goldingay
SPCK. 246 pages. £9.99
ISBN 978 0 281 061 396

If you want to give yourself an Old Testament treat, look no further.

Goldingay’s own translation of the works of these Old Testament prophets alone makes his book worthwhile. This is specially true in Ezekiel, where he is not afraid to allow his English to reflect the ‘jumpiness’ and ‘fidgetiness’ of Ezekiel’s Hebrew. This is no small victory if you know anything of the history of Ezekiel commentary!
