This is 10Publishing’s offering for the Christmas evangelistic booklet market.
It’s by Glen Scrivener, a gifted Australian communicator who trained at Oak Hill and operates as an evangelist with an organisation called ‘Christ the Truth.’ The tack taken in seeking to promote Christ during the festive season is that there are four kinds of approach to Christmas in the UK – (the grammatical disconnect between the title and subtitle here is unfortunate). The four are: the Scrooge approach – the world is miserable and we ought to be miserable; the Shopper approach – the world is miserable, so ‘eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die’; the Santa approach – where God is a doubtful and distant deity resembling Santa Claus, who dispenses blessing and curses according to our desserts; and the Stable approach of the gospel of free grace in the gift of his son, the Lord Jesus.
