These two books offer beautiful testimonies to the Lord’s goodness as he uses Ethiopian men and women acting as missionaries in their own country to bring the gospel to remote tribes in Southern Ethiopia.
Each short chapter tells a story of how the Lord uses ordinary people – peasant farmers, who by faith in Jesus step out and see God’s transforming power: witchdoctors come to faith and whole households and villages hear and respond to God’s word. Furthermore, these two books give an account of the cost of being a disciple: of imprisonment, beatings and even losing their lives for the sake of making Jesus’ name known at a time in Ethiopia’s history when being a Christian was forbidden. However, because of the sacrifice of these servants, today there are thousands of churches throughout the mountains of Southern Ethiopia.
