BISHOP J.C. RYLE
Prince of tract writers
By Alan Munden. Day One. 128 pages. £10.00
ISBN 978 1 846 253 270

On visiting Liverpool’s Anglican cathedral, I enquired at the desk for the tomb of that city’s first bishop, John Charles Ryle. Who? They couldn’t help me, hardly knew the name! This book now deserves a prominent place on its bookstall, and they will be without excuse.

Alan Munden’s work comes from within the Anglican scene and understands its peculiarities, but can be valued by evangelicals of every label.
