DIVIDE & …MULTIPLY
A vision and a way to go for self-multiplying churches
By Johan Lukasse & Teo Kamp. European Church Planting Consultation. 239 pages. 10 euros
ISBN 978 9 080 915 800

How can we develop churches to be actively evangelistic? This book encourages churches to become self-multiplying by asking: what sort of church should we like to see come into being?

It advocates ‘Z-thinking’, i.e. beginning with the end-result in view and then working backwards towards ‘A’ (where we are today), which makes the intermediary steps clearer. Spiritual reproduction is introduced early on in the minds of young disciples with the vision: ‘that this church is not the final goal, but rather a step towards the following one, while praying that God will fill the land with local, active, self-multiplying churches’ (p.61).
