HOPE AFTER BETRAYAL
Healing when sexual addiction invades your marriage
By Meg Wilson. Kregel. 158 pages
ISBN 978-0-8254-3935-3

Meg Wilson knows what it is like to discover a husband’s secret life. One day her husband confessed to a ‘struggle’ with internet pornography, a struggle which turned out to be a deep-seated habit going back many years. That was only the beginning of the revelations. Meg later met other women whose apparently decent and respectable Christian husbands had regularly used prostitutes or had had affairs.

Out of these shocking and searing experiences she has written this book as a recovery manual for women in similar situations. This book is much more and much better than a winning-through story. Meg fearlessly brings the searchlight of Scripture not only to the situation and the guilty party but to the innocent one as well. She knows only too well the various pitfalls, from wallowing in victimhood to blind vengeful fury. She knows there are no easy answers, nor is there a guarantee of a happy families ending. What there is is biblical hope, built on truth and grace. Both are commended in equal measure as the only way forward, hard as the road may be.
