The author, a serving pastor, tackles the subject of self-image for the contemporary Christian reader. The book is non-technical, but not trite or superficial. Each of the nine main chapters finish with practical reflection and study questions, and all the anecdotes are relevant for the UK market.
The book is a kind of ‘biblical cognitive therapy’. For me the most helpful chapter was chapter 3: ‘the original design’, a concept from Genesis 1 that would benefit from even more unpacking than the space allowed in this book.
