CHRIST WALKS WHERE EVIL REIGNED
Responding to the Rwanda genocide
By Emmanuel M. Kolini & Peter R. Holmes. Authentic. 184 pages. £8.99
ISBN 978-1-934068-41-0

It is now 14 years since the Rwandan genocide and many other disasters have happened in the world since then. So, why read a book about the genocide now? Even though this awful atrocity took place some years ago and efforts have been made to deal with the crisis, serious problems still remain in the country and these must be addressed, not only for the sake of the people living there, but also to prevent another episode of a similar kind taking place.

This book has been written as a case study and it examines, helpfully, the history of Rwanda to reveal who the Tutsis and the Hutus are and what brought about the genocide. The details of what took place are examined from a Christian standpoint, addressing the whole problem of evil in this world. The purpose of the book is to try and consider an effective way forward for the country, and especially how individuals, especially the women, can be helped to come to terms with the atrocities inflicted on them, years ago, and lay the issue to rest.
