CONQUERING THE DRAGON
The true life story of a former triad gang member
By Kim Goh. Authentic Media. 150 pages. £4.99
ISBN 978-1-86024-616-6

This autobiography describes the extreme and often volatile lifestyle of Kim Goh, his subsequent conversion and amazing transformation. Kim was a successful businessman who also became seriously entangled in a life of violence, drugs, lust and financial duplicity. His ‘adventures’ and criminal activities take him all over the world. Goh does have an ‘exciting’ life story and three-quarters of the book is taken up with describing his life preceding his conversion. The rest of the book spends relatively little time describing his actual conversion experience and instead focuses on his change in life style and subsequent perceived spiritual gifts, such as healing and prophetic words.

The title encourages the reader to make a connection between this book and Tony Anthony’s Taming the Tiger. While both books testify to God’s transforming power in the most extreme of circumstances, Tony Anthony’s book would provide a much clearer explanation of the gospel.
