As well as authoring other books, John Stott, now retired from public ministry, was also New Testament editor of the excellent Bible Speaks Today series of commentaries and contributed to that series. He also often spoke at the Keswick Convention. And these two parts of his work often came together with Keswick being the beneficiary.
In this book we have a series of sermons preached by Stott over the years at Keswick which are really preaching versions of a number of his books. From 1965, we have four messages from Romans 5-8 which became the book Men Made New. From 1969, we have sermons from 2 Timothy which appeared as Guard the Gospel. From 1972, the preaching is from the Sermon on the Mount, published under the title Christian Counter-culture. Then, from 1975, we have God’s New Society which was the original title of the BST commentary on Ephesians. From 1978, the messages are related to the BST on 1 Thessalonians. Then, from the year 2000, we have a series for Christian leaders based on studies from 1 Corinthians 1-4.
