TELL ME THE STORY
The Carpenter
By Alex Macdonald. Christian Focus. 144 pages
ISBN 978-1-84550-285-0

In this book Alex Macdonald retells the stories of 12 people who were eye-witnesses to the life of Jesus. The style of the book is compelling and the biblical and background material is helpful.

The author is an engaging storyteller and manages to captivate heart, mind and imagination of the reader. The book is an easy read. I haven’t made up my mind about this genre of literature, what I call ‘faction’ (a mixture of fact and fiction), but I would certainly give this book to an unbeliever to whet their appetite for the gospel. I might also give it to my students to encourage them to tell the ‘old, old story’ in a winsome manner.
