ROBBER OF THE CRUEL STREETS
The Prayerful Life of George Muller
By Clive Langmead. CWR. 174 pages. £9.99
ISBN 1 85345 395 1

In March 1898, George Muller’s Daily Telegraph obituary memorably noted that he’d robbed the cruel streets of thousands of victims, through the orphanages he had established, built and run on the foundation of prayer.

Clive Langmead’s beautifully presented book retells that story, its chapter headings summarising Muller’s remarkable life as Robber, Captive, Freeman, Foreigner, Preacher, Pastor, Father, Philanthropist, Builder, Director, Mentor and Statesman.
