I’M ASKING YOU NICELY
By Greg Watts
Highland Books. 191 pages
ISBN 1 897913 75 3

Es Kaitell was a nightclub doorman in some of the roughest clubs in Britain, when he was miraculously converted after the invitation from a friend to attend church.

Much of this biography deals with incidents in Es’s life prior to his conversion, and the author’s attention to detail can at times be rather tedious. When reading of his conversion, I found it hard not to question if he genuinely wanted to trust Christ, or whether he had been emotionally manipulated into a decision. Much of the story following Es’s conversion suggests God’s sanctifying work in him, though there would still be concerns regarding certain aspects of his life, for instance the fact he has married three times.
