With its punchy title, this book claims to have ‘the secret of effective prayer’ and the potential to be ‘of huge significance in your life’.
In his opening chapter, John Huffman picks up on the feeling most of us have, that we do not pray ‘enough’. He is concerned that ‘we are really not the praying church we should be and can be’, because we do not value prayer as Jesus did. We too are called to prayer, says Huffman, but we are like the disciples — we need someone to teach us to pray. He calls the reader to take time out to reflect on the Bible’s teaching and his/her own personal prayer life. The following five chapters then take the reader through the main points of the Lord’s prayer, as a model of how we should pray.
