Beating Time

ONE AND ONLY By Big Daddy Weave Fervent Records

This debut project from American band Big Daddy Weave brings us a competent, vibrant brand of acoustic pop rock.

This is the time of year for acoustic pop rock, in my opinion. Nothing quite like the countrified sounds of acoustic guitar and gravelly, powerful voices for a summer's evening. Musically, the CD is almost faultless. Almost.

This is where personal taste comes in: eagerly, I whack the review copy into my CD player, only to be greeted by a wailing sax on track one. Unexpected, perhaps a little 'early 90s'. It's a small point. I'm not a big saxophone fan. But anyway, less about me, more about Big Daddy Weave.
