This is a small book which tells the stories of seven individuals, including the footballer, Hans Segers, who was accused of match swinging, and whose lives were transformed by an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ just when they felt they had reached the lowest point in their lives.
The stories were obviously true but in one or two I felt unclear about the extent to which the teller had experienced a 'conversion experience' - at times there just seemed to be an awareness of God stepping into a difficult situation but without the life-changing knowledge of sins forgiven. The final chapter by the book's author, however, gives an excellent explanation of the gospel and includes a prayer which an unbeliever seeking forgiveness could pray. It is this chapter which makes the book suitable for giving away to a person who is either seeking God or perhaps going through difficult circumstances.
